What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a treatment that applies smooth rhymical strokes towards the lymph nodes to encourage the natural drainage of lymph fluid. Lymph fluid is composed of water, proteins, and larger cell fragments, or toxins. These waste products are pushed away from the tissue toward the lymph nodes. Once, reaching the lymph nodes it is then filtered, and returned to the blood system.

How is manual lymphatic drainage beneficial after Surgery?
After Cosmetic surgery, soft tissue and lymphatic channels are injured, and can take approximately three to four months to heal. Once this occurs, the inflammatory response is triggered. leading to redness, pain, swelling, increased temperature, and loss of function. By receiving MLD, symptoms are abetted, and decreased. Lymphatic Drainage helps reduce swelling, and typically improves aesthetic results by reducing congestion in the tissue. Furthermore, pushing the lymph fluid towards the lymph nodes lessens the chance of infection. Cosmetic surgeons are seeing the advantages and are making recommendations that their patients seek out a certified professional to aid them along with recovery.
How is post-surgical Lymphatic different from Brazilian body lymphatic?
Post-surgical lymphatic is designed to deal with a body experiencing the healing process.
It will not follow the same protocol of a completely healthy person. Also, different factors play a role in formulating a treatment plan. Age, ethnicity, and the procedure performed are to be considered.
How many treatments do I need?
Each person is unique, and the procedure they experienced is something to be determined as we go along. However, a minimum of ten treatments are recommended. These ten treatments following along the healing stages totaling up to three weeks. You can expect to receive five in the first week, three in the second, and two in the third.
